In September 2011, Cheryl became part of the NBC 5 team in Chicago, and served as both the morning and weekend meteorologist. She gained most of her recognition after a couple of very powerful tornadoes roamed around Knoxville, destroying everything in their path – Cheryl was there to cover the disaster while also advising people to take measures against the new tornadoes which might appear.Īfter the danger was gone, Cheryl was surrounded by many people who were left without a roof over their heads, and was moved by the other people who were helping them – this made her join the Red Cross and volunteer to help all those who had been damaged by the weather in one way or the other. After matriculation, she enrolled at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in geological science in 2007.
